Faculty of Dentistry

Department's Message

Prosthesis means replacing a missing body part or a non-functional organ or tissue with an artificial one. Prosthodontics, one of the main branches of Dentistry, aims to restore and maintain oral functions, oral aesthetics, and patients’ health by means of restoration of missing teeth and surrounding oral and maxillofacial tissues, and substance losses in natural teeth with artificial substitutes.

The main goal of all prosthetic treatments is to restore the missing or deficient function, phonation, and aesthetics. To achieve this goal, the Department of Prosthodontics offers theoretical and practical courses, starting from the 1st year of a 5-year education and continuing until graduation. The mission of our department is to equip the students of Dentistry with the required theoretical, practical, and clinical knowledge and skills to perform all prosthetic rehabilitation of patients; to provide quality treatment services to the patients who visit our clinic, and contribute to science through unique research. Our Faculty’s experienced faculty members, highly qualified auxiliary staff, as well as our prospective dentists who aim to succeed in their profession always support us to accomplish this mission. High-quality technical equipment in our clinical and preclinical prosthodontics and simulation laboratories also help us realise our mission. We aim to equip our students with the necessary knowledge and skills, and enable them to be competent especially in digital dentistry, which is going to have an important role in dentistry practices in the future. As the Department of Prosthodontics, we always aim for the best in order to offer the highest quality education to our students, to provide the best services to our patients, and to advance our careers by doing research.
