Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is an academic department that examines the diseases, anomalies and developmental disorders of the organs in the mouth and those surrounding the mouth, and plans the treatments to be administered. Our Department investigates the general well-being of the patients and their systemic diseases that may constitute a risk for dental practices. Finally, clinical findings are combined with radiographic and laboratory test results to draw up treatment plans for the patients.Correct diagnosis is the prerequisite to treat a patient properly and adequately. Intraoral symptoms may indicate serious diseases. Our Department’s goal is to teach the prospective dentists how to diagnose correctly, manage the treatment planning process, examine the head and neck areas, and assess the findings as a whole.The Department of Oral, and Maxillofacial Radiology syllabus includes undergraduate courses of diagnosis and radiology. With a holistic education approach involving theoretical, clinical, and seminar and practical courses, it aims to educate competent prospective dentists who can keep up with the technological developments in their specialties.
